“Fuck no!”

Her gaze locked with his, she sat down opposite him and watched his face redden. “Hey Nick”
“No, no, no. It can’t be you”
“Tada!” She dropped the red rose she was carrying onto his plate. “I’m your date tonight”
“NO!” His voice rose along his temper. “I told AJ I didn’t want to see you again!”
“Guess he didn’t listen” She licked her lips. “Actually, don’t blame him. I was the one who asked him to play matchmaker again”
“You’re kidding me. Why?”
“Because last time… well, let’s just say it didn’t go according to plan”
“You think?” He roared, the whole restaurant turning around to stare at him. “It was a disaster! First, we got to the restaurant to find out they’d lost our reservation. Then we got the table near the kitchen and they upended a tray full of tomato soup. On me!”
“I know, I was there”
“Exactly! You’re like this… this disaster magnet. I don’t know what you did in your life to deserve such a bad karma but frankly, I don’t want you near me”
“Come on, Nick, I’m not that bad. At least, give me a chance to-“
He jumped up and tossed a couple of bills on the table. “No way. I’m out of here”
“Nick!”

She watched him stride out of the restaurant and winced. Damn, she hadn’t thought he’d still be that mad. She got up of her seat and hurried after him, pasting a fake smile on her face.
“Nick!” She shouted across the parking lot. Damn man had long legs! She panted as she ran after him. She could see him swear as he patted his pockets, probably trying to locate his car keys.
“Fuck! Fuck!” He finally fished them out of the first pocket he’d tried and beeped the car open.
He slid in the front seat just as she wrenched the passenger door open and jumped inside.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” His voice was so loud inside the tiny sports car she thought she’d gone deaf for a second or two.
“Wow, calm down. I just want to talk”
“NO!” He hissed through clenched teeth. “No talking. Ever. Again. D’you want to know what happened the last time we talked? You started giggling so much you spewed Coke all over me! And that was after I’d cleaned myself up after that fucking soup accident!”
“But that’s a good thing surely. I was laughing so much because you were funny and…” She let her voice trail when she spotted the way his eyes were flashing. “Okay, so maybe it wasn’t very nice in the middle of a first date but-“
“No! Get out of my car”

She felt her control snap. “Nope” Grabbing the seatbelt, she dragged it around her then settled back into the seat, her arms crossed her chest. “You can drive me home, Jeeves”
“What the hell? Who do you think you are?
“Your date, dumbass!”
“Dumbass?”
She swore his head was gonna pop. “Nick? I don’t have a ride. I took a cab home. Could you at least drive me back? It’s not asking much surely. I mean, you’re supposed to be my date tonight”
“I swear, it’s the last time I trust AJ. No more blind dates. No more fucking dates. I’m gonna fuck groupies until the end of all eternity” He muttered under his breath as he revved up the engine and sent the car flying onto the hardtop.
“You might try slowing down” She finally said after some long, very long, silent minutes. The car was roaring down the road and she could see a curve up ahead. Remembering the way the road angled to the left, she repeated, “Nick, slow down! You’re gonna get us killed!”
“That wouldn’t surprise me considering your luck” He grunted but grabbed the shift and slowed down some. The car made one of those loud noises that never sound good. You know the ones? “No fucking way” Nick wrestled with the wheel as the car began to spin to the left. He corrected the trajectory but she saw the road on the left and the gravel path that edged the cliff on the right.
“Right, Nick! Go right!”
“What? No!”
“Right!” She screamed and he listened to her at the last second.
The car veered onto gravel and then after something that resembled a boom, stalled.

Silence reigned in the car. The car had stopped just as the path gave way to shrubbery and feet away, the cliff’s edge.
“Shit” Nick groaned, his forehead bumping the top of the steering wheel.
Eyes wide, she asked, “Are you okay?”
“No. I’m never okay with you but really, this takes the mickey”
“I’m sorry, Nick. I…” She bit her lip, trying valiantly not to cry. “Let’s get out of here”
“Let’s” He said, his voice sounding tired. He opened his door and slid out and she followed suit.
They stood there in the relative quiet as they stared at the car. It was dead. Oh, it might run again one day but it sure as hell wasn’t going to get them into town. Lights glittered in the Valley at their feet. They were so close and yet… they were stuck.
“I can’t believe this!” Nick snapped, his booted foot connecting with the front tire. “I told you not to follow me. I told you I didn’t want to see you again! Can’t you see what you did? Can’t you?”
“I didn’t cause this accident, Nick”
“What? Are you kidding me? You were in the fucking car, weren’t you? That’s all it took!”
“Nick, come on. Listen to yourself”
“Listen to myself? Listen to myself?”

That was only the start of his rant. She watched him get more and more agitated, waving his arms around as he cursed her out. She tried speaking out, tried to make him see it hadn’t been her fault. No, really. But he was so set in his opinion he didn’t want to listen.
But she still had to make him stop. Two more minutes of this and she’d be bawling her eyes out. And that would be even worse, if such a thing existed.
So she did the only thing she could think of. Sitting on the trunk, she lifted her hands and began unbuttoning her dress.
It took him a moment but he finally asked, “What are you doing?”
“What does it look like?” She looked back at him, her fingers never stopping.
“But-“ She smiled, pleased she’d managed to shut him up. “Why?”
“What do you think?” She stood up and with a shrug of her shoulders, let the dress fall down her arms to the ground.
“I… I…”
“Yes?” She smiled some more and knowing it was now or never, slid her hands up her back. With one quick jerk of her fingers, her bra snap opened. Fingers pulled at the straps around her shoulders, dragging them down. She felt the cool air whisper across her bare breasts, hardening her nipples. Or maybe it was Nick’s gaze on them. Either way, it was working.
Shivering, she bent down and slid her lacy briefs down her legs. Kicking them off, she drew back up, her gaze instantly meeting his.
“Why?”
“I thought we could fuck this curse to oblivion”
He blinked, “Curse?”
“Yeah, I haven’t managed to come up with a better explanation. So, are you game?” She asked as she leaned back onto the cold trunk.

“Fuck” He said for the umpteenth time that evening but this time, it didn’t hold anger. No, instead it was somewhat soft. Hesitant.
She felt him step closer and widened her legs.
He came to stand between them, the harsh denim of his pants rubbing against the inside of her thighs. “Are you sure?”
“Nick, I’m buck naked on your car. I don’t think I can make myself any clearer”
And for the first time in ages, he laughed in her presence. She felt it to her core, that chuckle. It probably had an even greater impact because suddenly, he was there. Pressing down on her, his hands appeared on each side of her head and his face loomed above hers. “Hey”
“Hey” She smiled, looping her arms around his neck. “Kiss me, Nick”
He was still grinning when his mouth met hers. And as they kissed for the first time, she could feel magic envelop them. A rainbow of bright colors exploded behind her eyelids, her back arching as his lips left hers to trail down. He licked and nipped a way down her neck, nibbled her collarbone. He pressed soft kisses on the sensitive skin of her breasts, making her moan when his teeth clamped tight around one taut nipple.
Laughing at her eagerness, he continued on his journey until he was kneeling on the gravel. Opening her up with two fingers, he drew out her clit and flicked it.
“Ahh!” She gasped but he didn’t stop.

His tongue circled the small nub, hardening it until he could nip it with his teeth. He slid one finger inside her at the same time, the pleasure suddenly so intense she felt her control snap. She tensed, her walls clenched around his thrusting finger and then, she was screaming.
Her shout rang in the mountains around them. The world froze for a second or two.
She came back to herself just as Nick was sending his shirt flying to a nearby bush. He tugged his pants down and moved back between her legs.
“Okay?” He asked, smoothing her sex with his fingers.
She twitched at the caress and let out a long, “Yeah”.
Smirking, he wrapped her legs behind him and pushed inside her.
Her hips jerked, her legs tightened but he didn’t stop. He never stopped. Not when she grabbed his head and pulled him down for a messy kiss. Not when her nails racked down his back in an attempt to slow him down. He just kept on thrusting in and out of her, loving the way she felt around him.
It felt like home. It felt… perfect.
Holding on to that amazing sensation, he closed his eyes and increased his tempo. The car began to vibrate beneath them, both uncaring. They could feel heat spread through them. Her walls clenched around his pounding erection, making him groan. “Fuck, baby!”
“Come for me, Nicky” She whispered in his ear.
It was all it took. They gasped, they writhed, they came.
Two roars flitted in the air above them.

“Do you think it worked?” Nick looked up from her neck. His face sweaty, disheveled bangs in his eyes, he looked positively satisfied.
“Couldn’t you feel it?”
He stared back at her and nodded. He thought maybe he’d imagined it. But he’d felt something. He wasn’t sure what but it’d been there. The world had stopped for an instant and it’d been… magical.
Sliding out of her, he groaned and pulled up his pants. “Do you want your clothes?”
“Yes, please” She sat up, wincing as her back let her know quite loudly how sex on a car could hurt. She could feel muscles she hadn’t felt in a long time squeak as she stood up and swayed a little.
Nick appeared at her side and helped her get dressed once again. His hands drifted across her skin as he snapped shut her bra. Then her dress was buttoned up and she looked more or less just like the person who’d been the worst date in history. Except she wasn’t. Well, she had been but not now. Now she was the best sex he’d ever had.
And he didn’t want to let her go. He wanted to wake up next to her in the morning. Wanted to see her in the shower, droplets clinging to her wet skin. Wanted to see her smile at him across a restaurant table.
He wanted her. Plain and simple.
He didn’t tell her all this however. Instead, he gave her his right hand and pulled her close. Together, they started walking towards the road where hopefully someone would stop and give them a ride into town.
But considering the way his luck had changed, he was pretty sure the first car coming around the bend would stop. She was magic after all.
